(Summary description)A 18-year-old male presented with an oval translucent cystic mass in the inferior nasal peripheral in his left eye as the color fundus (fig. A) shown. High-resolution swept-source OCTA revealed a 10.5 ×5mm "dolphin-shaped" epiretinal cystic hyperreflectivity on cross section image (fig. C) with a little blood flow signals detected in the "cystic wall" (fig. D). A diagnosis of congenital cyst of the vitreous was considered.

A 400kHz speed full-range swept-source OCTA (Bmizar, TowardPi Medical) was used in this case. The excellent optical design of 120-degree ultra-wide field makes it easy and fast to capture peripheral OCTA image.

This case was reported in the JFO Open Ophthalmology, and it was authored by Dr. Xiaohu Liu, and the team of Prof. Guoping Wang, from Ineye Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Prof. Dian Zhao, from Eye School of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
