IF: 19.7! Virtual Whole Eye Model Based on UWF Full-Range SS-OCT!

Research published in npj Digital Medicine (5-year Journal Impact Factor = 19.7) introduced a three-dimensional virtual whole-eye model (Chi Eye Twins, CET-1), validated against MRI models in 80 eyes from 40 individuals with different degrees of myopia, using @TowardPi UWF full-range SS-OCT!

By integrating OCT data into the ocular modeling process, the results showed that the CET-1 model displayed high consistency with MRI models across all myopic eyes with varying AIs, with a mean point-to-surface distance of 0.0183 ± 0.0025 normalized units. Both anterior and posterior segment data were efficiently collected using the CET-1 model. As myopia progressed, the anterior chamber depth (ACD), anterior chamber angle parameters, as well as posterior Gaussian curvature increased accordingly.

Based on more accurate and faster data acquisition using 400 kHz UWF SS-OCT (#BMizar, @TowardPi), the CET-1 model provides a simple and effective tool for constructing a digital twin ocular model, enabling monitoring and quantitative analysis of myopia progression and contributing to personalized treatment strategies.
