What's so special about this AS-OCT image (fig1)? The ultra-wide length covers far beyond white-to-white? Supreme depth from the cornea to the posterior capsule of the lens? Exceptional details as Lasik flap from refractive surgery (yellow arrow), ICL implanted in the posterior chamber (asterisk), the corneal incision (green arrow), and even anterior hyaloid of vitreous (circle)?
They are. But the most amazing fact is, this image was taken by a posterior-anterior combo OCT! Which can do structure, 3D, and blood flow for the retina, choroid, and anterior segment!
In addition, the system provides automatic structure detection for different types of eyes, including ICL. Quantification indexes can be acquired just in one click (fig2). And more, dewarp algorithm is applied to avoid measurement error from deformation!
Both BMizar and Yalkaid SS-OCT systems from TowardPi are featured with anterior plus posterior functions. For information on posterior parts, please refer to our other posts.
