At the 2023 National Retina Exhibition and International Retina Forum, leading experts from the medical field congregated to deliberate upon the most recent advancements in the treatment of fundus diseases. The event featured a diverse range of innovative products showcased at various booths. Furthermore, it fostered academic exchanges during satellite meetings and provided insightful speech sessions throughout the conference.
1. TowardPi's Booth showcased the newest OCT technology and golden signature series, attracting thousands of visitors
TowardPi exhibited its newest generation of ophthalmic imaging equipment. Its groundbreaking wide-field Swept-Source OCT offers higher resolution, and faster speed, as well as more accurate fundus images to help doctors make more accurate diagnoses and plan treatments. It has become the focus of attention and brings new hope to patients with fundus diseases.
TowardPi’s dynamic panoramic swept-source optical biometer "Zalioth" was exhibited at the fundus disease conference. During the measurement process, the image of the B-scan structure from the cornea to the retina can be displayed in real-time, and it can be judged whether the eye axis measurement is from the front surface of the cornea to the fovea of the retina, realizing the visualization of the "true" eye axis.
For the first time, TowardPi Medical introduced PiView Image Information Clinic, a new data solution tailored for ophthalmology clinics. Operating independently from hardware servers, it facilitates the seamless integration of numerous terminal devices onto a unified platform. This platform offers rapid delivery of high-definition images, extensive analytical capabilities, data quantification, and an all-encompassing digitalization, ushering in a paperless, high-definition imaging paradigm for future ophthalmology clinics.
TowardPi Medical's "400,000 Hz Ophthalmologists Golden Signature Series" amazed visitors at the TowardPi booth at the Retina China 2023 exhibition. Although it launched just two years ago in China, it has already received many wonderful clinical images from ophthalmologists across the country. Eye-catching rows of golden signature series images attracted people to stop and watch.
We are looking forward to the participation of more doctors and feel happy to receive these beautiful images from our users! At the same time, we will continue to explore and innovate, provide ophthalmologists with more cutting-edge clinical examination tools, and improve the efficiency of ophthalmology diagnosis and treatment.
2. TowardPi Symposium - A field with endless discoveries and opportunities
Experts and scholars gathered to share their latest research results and clinical experience. They demonstrated cutting-edge technologies and innovative ideas, which not only advanced the development of the field of fundus disease treatment, but also brought new enlightenment and breakthroughs to the medical field.
In this presentation, he discussed his team's utilization of the TowardPi 400KHz ultra-widefield swept-source OCTA's novel imaging modality for the choroidal vasculature in all vessels, as well as the 15-second, 10-billion-voxel, high-resolution ultra-widefield retina vasculature imaging, for prospective, ultra-widefield, and quantifiable studies in conditions like central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), and other diseases. Professor Mingwei Zhao highly praised TowardPi's patented 3D AI lumen recognition algorithm in choroidal imaging and various built-in quantification tools, which have propelled quantitative follow-up observations of various diseases and explorations of pathogenesis to new heights, entering an "uncharted territory" of innovation.
He pointed out that Swept-Source OCTA surpasses Frequency-Domain OCTA in terms of scanning speed, scanning range, scanning depth, and resolution. A 15-second scan can achieve 120° ultra-widefield OCTA imaging, capturing peripheral lesions without omission. For retinal vascular diseases such as DR, BRVO, and CRVO, it can partially replace angiography, aiding in disease diagnosis and follow-up, enhancing safety, clinical examination efficiency, and optimizing the examination process. Simultaneously, through various retinal and choroidal layers of OCTA and structural Enface images, more pathological manifestations can be discovered, facilitating the accurate diagnosis of various retinal diseases. Particularly, it holds a significant advantage in detecting MNV lesions, making classifications, and assessing disease activity during follow-up comparisons!
Dr. Siying Li from the team of Professor Mingwei Zhao and Professor Jinfeng Qu, discussed if non-invasive OCTA can replace traditional angiography. The answer comes in the form of wide-field swept-source OCTA, which not only provides clinicians with expansive wide-angle OCTA images but also reveals intricate details of various diseases. The observation of the lateral branch circulation in RVO holds significant clinical advantages, offering a novel perspective for evaluating disease severity and progression, thus introducing a fresh vantage point for clinical observations.
3. Professor Youxin Chen's PCV multi-center cooperation kick-off meeting
On the morning of August 4th, the inaugural meeting of the multi-center "POSTAR China PCV Multi-Center SS-OCT/OCTA Imaging Study," led by Professor Youxin Chen from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, was ceremoniously held in Chongqing. The event included an award ceremony for multi-center collaborative units, and representatives from over twenty hospitals across the country attended the launch ceremony.
As an exemplary representative of the latest generation of SS-OCTA technology, the TowardPi Swept-Source OCTA stands out with its patented advanced high-order moments decorrelation algorithm, which enhances sensitivity in capturing retinal capillaries. The patented choroidal large vessel imaging and quantification provide a fresh perspective for PCV research. The exclusive 3D OCTA three-dimensional perspective vascular network transitions the observation and follow-up of vascular structures, including PCV and various other diseases, from a 2D plane to a new 3D spatial perspective.
As commented by the initiator of the project, Professor Youxin Chen, "Currently, SS-OCTA represented by TowardPi Swept-Source OCTA improves the detection rate of lesions and provides better visualization of polypoidal lesions, branching neovascular networks, and choroid. We believe that with the support of advanced equipment and collaboration among partner hospitals, this multi-center, prospective, observational POLESTAR study will undoubtedly propel PCV research to new heights, enhancing the diagnostic and treatment efficiency of PCV among the Chinese population and promoting the development of PCV diagnosis and treatment in China."
