Frost & Sullivan, a global Business Consulting and Services firm, released the "High-end Ophthalmic Medical Equipment Industry Status and Future Development Trends Blue Book (in China)" on April 11th, 2024. In section 3.2, titled "Market Survey and Analysis Results of Ophthalmic Optical Coherence Tomography," the report utilized all searchable and publicly available data from the 2023 China Public Hospital Ophthalmology OCT/OCTA Winning Bid Analysis. (In China, public hospitals remain the primary avenue for bulk and high-value purchases, with private hospitals not mandated to disclose bidding results.) No preset conditions or screenings were applied.

The findings revealed that TowardPi emerged as the leader in both "Total Amount of OCT/OCTA Bids Awarded by Public Hospitals" and "Average Winning Bid Price of All Models of Ophthalmic OCT Brands," earning the distinction of being a veritable "double champion." This marks the second instance wherein legacy international brands have lagged behind in China post-2022. (Referencing VBDATA's "Mid-to-High-end Ophthalmic Equipment Industry White Paper for 2022"). TowardPi's OCT market share in 2023 has surged to 26.6%. Of even greater significance is that this result was achieved with the highest bidding price. As quoted from the Sullivan report, "This is a very rare case in the industry where the quantity and price of domestic products surpass those of imported brands, indicating its substantial product superiority."
