If we center the RPE layer with conventional OCT (8-10mm length, 1.9-2.3mm depth). It is impossible to get the “whole picture” of this retinal detachment.

Thanks to “Toward Pi” Full-Range SS-OCT technology. 6mm depth perfectly accommodates the high elevated retina floating in the vitreous cavity, 16mm length shows only the optic nerve head adheres. With wider bandwidth, Toward Pi features SS-OCT with 5 microns optical resolution, that allows sharp visualization of retinal layers, macular holes, and cystoid edemas in this case. 1060nm wavelength allows effective penetration, even beneath deep sub-retinal fluid, the posterior boundary of the choroid layer is still detectable.
