<Frontiers in Public Health> new published study by group of Prof. Jie Zhong, revealed that combination of UWF CFP with UWF SS-OCTA (TowardPi 400KHz system) showed not only similar detection rate compared with UWF CFP plus FFA for ALL the characteristic DR lesions. But also very good agreement in the grading of DR severity!
Furthermore, UWF SS-OCTA provided significantly better performance in detecting NPAs (p = 0.039), and showed some undetected NVE/NVD by FFA!
Research speaks highly of BMizar (BM-400K, TowardPi), for its wide, fast and HD performance. 400KHz speed offers fast capture time and high cooperation from patients, systematized built-in lens avoids low resolution, distortion and extra time from external lens solution.
Last section of the article: “In general, UWF CFP combined with UWF SS-OCTA achieved almost the same DR lesion detecting and grading ability as UWF CFP plus FFA. This combination method could be a fast, reliable, and non-invasive method to diagnose DR at all stages, which has been applied in our daily clinical practice and may become a routine choice for DR management in the Future.”

Fig2. UWF SS-OCTA detected small NVE/NVD which being missed out by FFA.
