A recent case study published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology highlights a phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation surgery performed on a 55-year-old male patient with cataracts. The procedure utilized an innovative digital navigation microscope (#FOcean, TowardPi Medical), integrated with a 100kHz intraoperative full-range SS-OCT.
With a scan depth of 12.0 mm and a scan width of 16.0 mm, the high-resolution, real-time imaging provided a panoramic view of the anterior segment. The details of hydrodelineation and hydrodissection of the lens cortex were clearly visualized and recorded without any time delay.
This case report was authored by Dr. Zhe Xu and Dr. Ce Shi, part of Prof. Wen Xu’s team from the Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University.
